School Update:

Good afternoon, everyone! I will be sending updates as I receive them, and feel they are pertinent to our continued efforts in the community.

As testing has become more available and “caught up,” at the Maine CDC, we will see a dramatic increase in cases over the next few days/weeks. Please know that the large increases (at least for now) are mostly due to this phase of an increase of available and reliable testing. Having fast and reliable testing is a good thing!

That is not to say that we should not continue to take this as seriously. In fact, it’s just the opposite. This means there have been cases that have gone undetected, and this means we need to continue to maintain social distancing and excellent health hygiene, to protect those around us who are compromised (the elderly and those with health conditions). Again, this is a piece of information to remember when understanding transmission, and not to induce panic. My goal is to educate, for better understanding of what’s happening. The more we understand, the more we can do.

Please continue to stay home when possible, wash your hands and cover your cough/sneeze in your elbow. If you experience any of the following symptoms, please call Your health provider to determine the next course of action:

-Fever
-Cough
-Shortness of Breath

(These symptoms may appear 2-14 days after exposure.)

Thank you for your continued efforts!
