SCHOOL BUDGET MEETINGS JUNE 14 AND 15TH

The School Boards, the Superintendent and Administrators have worked hard to develop a budget for 2021-22 that keeps services to students intact, adds full-time art to the High School and Jonesport Elementary and half-time Physical Education to both Beal's and Jonesport Elementary. This has been accomplished without adding any new local taxes next year for the schools! We have used our new federal funding to make sure the tax commitments at the local level remain flat next year. 

Federal funding will also allow us to make the first annual payments on the energy and ventilation projects. This will also be possible for the second annual payments in 2023 for Beal's and Jonesport Elementary as well. We hope to see all of the energy/ventilation projects completed over the next 12-15 months. New insulation has been completed at Beal's and will be done at JES and JBHS this summer as well. New floor tiling at the High School, to replace the old, dirty carpet will also be completed this summer as will the new roof at the JBHS.

We care currently waiting on a date from the Jonesport Town Office so that we can schedule the Jonesport Elementary School Budget meeting. As soon as they provide us with a date, we'll announce it on this website and post the warrant articles.
